Washoe County Sustainability Manager Brian Beffort presented the Washoe County Climate Action Plan (CAP), the culmination of over a year of research, data collection, public outreach, and planning in the area of sustainability. The CAP recommends 126 actions to reduce emissions across four sectors: land use, transportation, buildings, and waste.

Washoe County has launched a new community fund to support regional behavioral health initiatives as directed by the Board of County Commissioners as part of its strategic planning. Behavioral health comprises mental health and drug use disorders, and is a driving factor of homelessness, chronic community health issues, and law enforcement challenges.
Washoe County Treasurer Justin Taylor reminds property owners that Monday, March 3, is the due date for the fourth installment of 2024/25 property taxes. Payments will be accepted without penalty through Thursday, March 13, 2025.
The Board received an update from the Registrar of Voters and approved several donations and grants, including a $185,000 gift to cover the cost of an evacuation study for all of Washoe County.
