Washoe County Hosts Fuse Fellow to Tackle Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Climate Planning

Washoe County has launched a Sustainability program and enlisted Emily Stapleton, an employee of Fuse Corps, who will be embedded with the program to lead the County’s work to conduct a community-wide greenhouse gas inventory. She will also engage members of the community to develop plans to reduce emissions and improve climate resiliency across multiple sectors – buildings, transportation, energy, food, and waste. Washoe County receives accolades for Green Recovery Plan

Washoe County's Green Recovery Plan was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to address the physical, mental, and economic health of residents. The plan integrates disaster risk reduction measures into the revitalization of livelihoods and economies. The plan also incorporates lessons learned from the pandemic to better prepare for similar challenges in the future.
