As part of Washoe County Regional Animal Service’s (WCRAS) continued focus on safety and emergency preparedness, WCRAS will conduct a full-scale exercise simulating a local disaster requiring the evacuation of all animals in the Washoe County Regional Animal Services Shelter. This exercise will take place on Tuesday, May 2, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The exercise will test staff disaster preparedness and response procedures in preparation for possible local disasters such as wildfires, earthquakes or floods.

Washoe County Regional Animal Services (WCRAS) will be holding a horse microchipping event June 5 at Bartley Ranch Regional Park Horse Arena. Microchips will be provided free to horses owned by Washoe County residents.
