Regional Animal Services is seeking information related to Animal Cruelty

Washoe County Regional Animal Services (WCRAS) is seeking information regarding a person who discarded a deceased, emaciated and hobbled dog into a family’s yard.

On April 21, 2023, around 11:48 p.m., a deceased dog was thrown into a yard on West 6th Street in Sun Valley, Nevada. The dog is described as being approximately 1 year old, brown and white female pit bull, emaciated, and with her legs hobbled. The person seen throwing the body is described as an adult male with dark hair, light skin complexion wearing a black and white baseball cap, black shirt with a white design on the back, black pants, and tube socks.

Animal Services wants to speak with the person described above. Tips about who this person is or who may know about the dog involved in this case may be sent anonymously to WCRAS by calling Animal Services Dispatch at (775) 322-3647, or by emailing pets@washoecounty.gov.
