Weather Update. Washoe County and National Weather Service Reno have been closely monitoring incoming storms for adjustments that need to be made, including the possible closing of Lemmon Drive. High winds are expected to rise which may temporarily push water onto roads in the area. Stormwater can also be expected with temporary high flows in ditches. Sandbags. Washoe County highly encourages all residents to prepare for winter weather. Should the need arise, sandbags are available at various location throughout Washoe County. Please be prepared to fill the sandbags at the locations by bringing a shovel and assistance if possible.
In addition, the following locations will have sandbags available for Lemmon Valley area residents:
• Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Station #223, 130 Nectar St., Lemmon Valley
• Lemmon Drive and Pompe Way intersection, Lemmon Valley
