Join Washoe County and members of the Canepa family to celebrate the new trailhead at Canepa Ranch.
The project was partially funded through a Conserve Nevada Program grant administered by the Nevada Department of Conservation & Natural Resources. The trailhead provides public access to the Truckee River and adjacent public lands and trails managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Through land acquisition deals in partnership with the State of Nevada and the U.S. Forest Service Washoe County now retains just over 53 acres of land that was once part of Canepa Ranch. The trailhead sits to the south of the Truckee River near Mogul and includes parking, kiosks, restrooms, bike racks, and a picnic area.
