Reno, Nev. March 14, 2019. Washoe County has received official notification from Governor Sisolak’s office and will move forward with the appointment process for Nevada State Assembly District 30.
Per state statute, the Washoe County Board of Commissioners will fill this vacancy at the state Legislature, previously occupied by Mike Sprinkle who resigned Thursday, March 14, 2019. An application process to fill this vacancy will be announced tomorrow by noon, March 15.
“Because the Nevada legislature is in session, Washoe County is working to get this seat filled as quickly as possible so the residents of District 30 are fully represented during this period,” says Washoe County Manager, John Slaughter.
The earliest the Washoe County Commission could take action to appoint a replacement would be at their regularly scheduled meeting on March 26, 2019.
