Washoe County Community Services Department (CSD) has launched a new “EZ Permits” portal on its website for application and automatic receipt of most utility-related residential building permits.
Licensed contractors applying for permits for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fireplaces and inserts, reroofs, and water heaters can now apply online, pay and receive an immediate permit without having to wait for processing. With the new system, homeowners applying for these same permits will experience expedited processing with minimal wait times.
“Our staff processes thousands of these simple utility-based permits every year, and we know that we can make it easier for our staff and for applicants by simply offering these permits through the new automated online system,” Assistant County Manager Dave Solaro said. “This will greatly increase efficiency and simplify the process.”
