Now is the time to register to vote

by | Oct 7, 2015

Reno, Nevada. Oct. 7, 2015. The 2016 election season is well underway. Voter registration has ramped up recently at many locations within Washoe County.  Voter registration is being sponsored by several different organizations that are either political or nonpartisan.
The Washoe County Registrar’s Office wants to remind citizens now is the time to register to vote or update voter registration information to reflect a current address or political party preference. If you’ve moved since you last voted, it’s important that your address be updated to reflect that change.  Without the correct address on file, you might actually end up voting for elected officials that don’t represent you.
You can register to vote in the Registrar’s Office at 1001 E. Ninth St, Bldg. A, at the DMV, online at www.registertovotenv.gov, or with one of the groups that are currently active around Washoe County.
Check your voter status in Washoe County on the Washoe County Registrar’s website at www.washoecounty.us/voters or call (775) 328-3670.
