by | Nov 26, 2018

Reno, Nev. Nov. 26, 2018. Washoe County Regional Parks & Open Space, the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) will be harvesting approximately 100 trees from Galena Creek Regional Park Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, to be given to Washoe County foster and adoptive families as well as Nevada National Guard families to use as Christmas trees.
Trees at Galena Creek Regional Park identified as part of the fuels reduction treatment program include small, white fir trees that need to be removed. Harvesting and then donating these trees is a great way to reuse them for the benefit of the community.
