Media Advisory: Washoe County Parks celebrates Special Families

Reno, Nev. Dec. 5, 2019. Washoe County Regional Parks & Open Space, the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) have harvested approximately 50 trees from Galena Creek Regional Park and will distribute them to Washoe County foster and adoptive families as well as Nevada National Guard families, along with a Park Ranger-hosted dinner, and a special visit from Smokey Bear.
Cutting and distributing these trees not only helps local families, but is a part of the Parks Fuels Reduction project.
The table is set and Parks staff is ready to welcome families from across our community:
