Reno, Nev. May, 2, 2019. The Washoe County Human Services Agency (HSA) and the University of Nevada Wolf Pack are partnering for the 2019 Have a Heart Baseball Game Sunday, May 5, 2019 to celebrate National Foster Care Month.
“These games are a creative way to support our foster families and bring a heightened awareness to foster care and adoption efforts through volunteer opportunities and donations,” said Washoe County HSA Director Amber Howell.
There are currently more than 700 Washoe County children in foster care. HSA Foster Care ensures the safety, permanency, and well-being of children who temporarily or permanently are not being cared for at home. HSA’s goal is to provide a safe, stable and nurturing home until a child is able to return to home or until a permanent home is found for the child.
