Today, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo announced the appointment of Clara Andriola to fill the vacant seat for Washoe County Commission District 4. This position was previously held by former Washoe County Commissioner Vaughn Hartung, who served in that position for 11 years, the last year as Board chair.
“I’m pleased to announce my appointment of Clara Andriola to the Washoe County Commission,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “Clara has long been an exemplary business and community leader in Sparks, where she is well-known for her integrity, work ethic, and thoughtfulness. Clara is dedicated to serving in the best interest of all Washoe County residents, and I’m excited for Clara to begin her new role.”
Since 2015, Andriola has served as the Executive Director of the Reno Rodeo Foundation. Andriola previously served as the President & CEO of Associated Builders and Contractors Nevada Chapter and as the Regional CEO for the American Red Cross.
“We welcome Ms. Andriola to Washoe County, and are very excited and look forward to working with her.” said County Commissioner Chair Alexis Hill. “We know the Governor has chosen someone who is connected to the community and to public service, and is ready to get to work.”
Andriola is scheduled to be sworn in at the Washoe County Board of County Commission meeting held April 11, 2023 at Washoe County Commission Chambers, 1001 E. 9th Street, Reno. The meeting begins 10:00 a.m.
