Election Open House provides residents hands-on experience with new digital check-in system ahead of General Election

The Registrar of Voters Office invites residents to an “open house” at the County Complex on October 10.

With the implementation of the Voter Registration and Election Management Solution (VREMS), Washoe County will be using a digital system – Poll Pads –for checking in voters during in-person voting.

In September, the Secretary of State’s office held a demonstration of the new Poll Pads to local media. The Registrar of Voter’s office now seeks to give Washoe residents a turn to try out this new piece of election equipment before experiencing it at Vote Centers starting October 19.

Registrar of Voters staff will be available to field questions from the public and offer discussions on how elections are run in Washoe County, as well as provide hands-on experience with the new Poll Pads.

The Open House is Thursday, October 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the lobby atrium of the County Complex Building A, located at 1001 E 9th Street, Building A, Reno.
