Election Day concludes in Washoe County with initial results posted to the county’s website. The results include in-person voting during early voting and Election Day, as well as all mail-in ballots received and processed up to Election Day. The last voter in line in Washoe County voted just after 9:30 p.m.
More than 35,000 voters voted in person on Election Day, and turnout is anticipated to be more than 60 percent. Mail-in ballots dropped off at Vote Centers on Election Day and ballots that are delivered in the mail will be counted in the days to come. Ballots that were postmarked on or before Election Day and received within four days of Election Day will be accepted.
“We are thrilled with the turnout in this election. We saw a steady stream of voters at our 41 Vote Centers,” Registrar of Voters Andrew McDonald said. “Voters seemed to get the message to either vote in person or drop off their ballot early, helping our office to process continuously and quickly.”
Washoe County will continue processing ballots until 3 a.m. tomorrow and resume at 8 a.m. Results will be updated by 6 p.m. each day through Nov. 10 and are not considered final until the Canvass of the Vote on Nov. 13.
