Evacuation areas in the Davis Fire have been updated as of 12:30 p.m. September 12. The areas of Callahan Ranch, Fawn Lane, Kelly Canyon Road and all residential areas north of Mt. Rose Highway are open for homeowners to access. Residents are urged to use caution, as there are hazards and fire crews working in the area.

Areas in Montreux, St. James Village and Joy Lake Road remain under evacuation due to fire activity and suppression efforts.

The Davis Fire started on Saturday, September 7, in the Davis Creek Regional Park Campground and quickly spread to Washoe Lake, Washoe City, St. James Village, and Galena neighborhoods. A unified command of Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue and Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest commenced with support from state and local fire crews. On Monday, September 9, an Incident Management Team (IMT) was brought in to take command and further relieve the fire crews.
