Washoe County Recorder’s Office now offers automatic Record Notification Service

by | Feb 8, 2021

As a service to its residents, the Washoe County Recorder’s Office has launched a new Record Notification Service (RNS) that notifies property owners the very day a document is recorded on their property or parcel number.

“We know that property owners are often the last to know when a document is filed on their property, and we are always looking for ways to provide better service and more transparency to our residents,” County Recorder Kalie Work said.

Washoe County and Clark County, Nevada’s most populated counties, will both soon offer the service to provide a simple and cohesive experience to Nevadans in both northern and southern Nevada. Residents may list up to five variations of their name and up to five parcel numbers per registered email address. The service will only notify the subscriber of recording events based on the enrolled name(s) or parcel number(s) following sign-up. Retroactive alerts are not available.

Records that may be filed on a property include mechanics liens, tax liens, or refinancing documents. Residents can sign up for RNS here and from that point forward will receive an email notification when a recorded document with the owner’s name or parcel number is filed. The service provides a digital scan of the document, so property owners can see exactly what was recorded, and take the steps needed to resolve any issues.
