Reno, Nev. May 22, 2024. As part of Washoe County’s commitment to the elderly in our community, The Human Services Agency (HSA), Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), KOLO News Channel 8, and our newest partner, the Reno Aces, are all ecstatic to announce the 2024 KOLO Cares Stuff A Bus Drive-By Donation Drive for Seniors is this Friday, May 24, 2024, from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
We call on the community to come together to stuff the RTC bus with donations at the Target, across from Legends Mall in Sparks. Never- been-used clothes, hygiene products, bus passes, gift cards, and anything you think a senior would need or enjoy is welcome. Donations will be stored at the Washoe County Senior Center and offered to seniors in need throughout the year. Those who donate to a senior this year, will receive a discount to a future Reno Aces home game.

“This is an amazing opportunity for Washoe County to partner with local businesses and agencies for the common goal of giving back to those who have given so much to our community over the years,” said Washoe County HSA Senior Services Division Director Cara Paoli. “This donation drive goes a long way in providing much-needed items for our elderly to enhance their quality of life. We thank all who make this donation drive possible and give so generously.”

- Toothbrush/toothpaste
- Deodorant, soap, shampoo and conditioner, disposable razors and shaving cream, combs and brushes.
- Sweatshirts
- Sweatpants
- Bus passes
- Uber/Lyft gift cards
- Uber Eats/DoorDash gift cards
- Jackets
- Gift cards
- Cleaning supplies
- Coloring books
- Large print word search books
- Reading books
- Movie passes
- Blankets
- Slippers
- Socks
- Gloves/hats
- Shorts
- T-shirts
- Shoes
- Coloring items (crayons/markers/pens)
- Crossword puzzles in large print
The KOLO Cares Stuff A Bus Drive-By Donation Drive is a signature Older Americans Month event. Additional events will be offered throughout the month. A complete list of events throughout the community is available to view online.
