Reno, Nev. Jan. 21, 2025. The Washoe County Human Services Agency (HSA) Senior Advisory Board is hosting a Senior Volunteer Fair Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at the National Automobile Museum to showcase various opportunities for the generous people in our community to help our most vulnerable seniors with areas of need.
Volunteering has several benefits, for not only the person being helped, but the one volunteering their time by meeting new friends, learning valuable skills, advancing your career, and even helping someone live happier and healthier. We are looking for seniors who want to volunteer and anyone else who is interested in helping seniors through volunteering. We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
- Become a foster grandparent or big brother-big sister.
- Help on a hotline or as a peer counselor.
- Deliver meals to seniors.
- Build affordable housing.
- Help in a community garden.
- Support the arts.
- Provide companionship to a homebound senior.
