Become Part of the FAM

by | Sep 2, 2024

Reno, Nev. Sept. 4, 2024. The Washoe County Human Services (HSA) invites the community to join the fun and festivities at our inaugural Walk with the FAM Awareness event around Sparks Marina. This free, family-friendly event will highlight the urgent need for foster parents, adoptive families, and mentors for children in care.

The “FAM” in our event name stands for “Foster, Adopt, and Mentor,” which aligns with our mission to support children in care by finding loving foster and adoptive homes and dedicated mentors. The festivities are free and will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature dozens of vendors, key sponsors, live music, family-friendly activities, and plenty of fantastic prizes. Enjoy free ice cream, popcorn, dunk tanks, and thrilling performances by the Biggest Little Circus! Everyone is welcome to walk the nearly two mile long, Sparks Marina loop to support foster children and families, and learn more about valuable ways the community can help our more than 600 children in care.
