Washoe County Library System will receive 50 percent of each $10 ticket sold. Proceeds will support the Give the Gift of Reading campaign, the Library’s initiative to raise funds for new children’s books. Research shows that the most reliable predictor of school success is being read to during early childhood. Reading to children from an early age can help close the vocabulary gap and prepare children to enter kindergarten with the skills they need to succeed. Most importantly, sharing books with children promotes a lifelong love of books and reading.
For that evening’s game against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Reno Bighorns will show their support for Washoe County Libraries by honoring us as their charity of the night! Please help to spread the word by telling your coworkers, family, neighbors and friends.
