Washoe County Library is excited to announce the grand reopening of the Sparks Library scheduled for Wednesday, April 20 at 3:00 p.m. The community is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration, which will take place at the library located at 1125 12th St. in Sparks. Members of the public are also welcome to attend the monthly meeting of the Washoe County Library Board of Trustees, which will immediately follow the event at 4:00 p.m.

The Sparks Library, which relocated to its current location in 1965, has been updated with new flooring, furniture, and layout improvements. Upgrades to the Young People’s Library include a refreshed children’s collection featuring the latest bestsellers. New seating, laptop tables, and study tables will maximize opportunities for research and study in this community hub.

Funding for the renovation was provided by Washoe County in partnership with the Tacchino Trust. These improvements are part of an ongoing effort by the Washoe County Library System to create welcoming spaces that benefit the community.
