Washoe County Library Announces 2023 Summer Reading Challenge

by | Jun 1, 2023

Washoe County Library is excited to announce the start of the 2023 Summer Reading Challenge! Patrons of all ages are invited to sign up to participate starting Thursday, June 1. The program runs through Monday, July 31.

“All Together Now” is the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. Washoe County Library is the perfect place to come together to spread kindness and create shared experiences. The goal of the program is to keep the community engaged throughout summer by offering an array of learning opportunities and interactive activities.

This year, the Beanstack Bingo Challenge is available to participants of all ages. Patrons can download the Beanstack app to create an account and collect badges by engaging in reading challenges and fun activities. Complete activities in vertical, horizontal, or diagonal rows to unlock bingo and earn prizes. Paper reading logs and bingo sheets will also be available online and at any Washoe County Library location.

Several Washoe County Library branches will host Summer Reading Challenge kickoff parties from June 1-9. These events will feature family-friendly games, crafts, and activities.

Patrons can sign up in person at any library branch or download the Beanstack app to get started at home. For more information about the Summer Reading Challenge, please visit washoecountylibrary.us/summerreading.
