Sparks Library Closed for Renovations: December 16, 2021

by | Dec 1, 2021

Washoe County Library System is continuing its plan to improve library services by moving forward with renovations at the Sparks Library. The branch, located at 1125 12th Street in Sparks, is being upgraded to meet the modern needs of its community. The building and book drop will be closed to the public starting December 16, 2021, with an anticipated reopening planned for April 2022.

The Sparks Library originally opened in 1964 and is one of Washoe County Library System’s oldest branches. The renovation of the building will include access improvements and upgrades to furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

Funding for the renovations was provided by Washoe County in partnership with the Tacchino Trust. These improvements are part of an ongoing effort by Washoe County Library System to ensure that a first-class library system is available to all our patrons. We appreciate the community’s support during this process, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

As a reminder, the Northwest Reno Library is also undergoing renovations and is expected to reopen in February 2022. All other branch locations remain open. For the most up-to-date information about library hours and services, please visit washoecountylibrary.us.
