Due to the ongoing Davis Fire, the South Valleys Library is expected to be closed until Monday, September 16. The facility is being used as a command center to coordinate fire response and is therefore not open to the public for regular library services.
All other Washoe County Library branches will maintain regularly scheduled hours. Patrons in the south Reno area who require internet access, printing, research materials, or any other library services are advised to visit the Sierra View Library, in the Reno Town Mall, 4001 S. Virginia St., or any other Washoe County Library branch. For a complete list of library locations, visit www.washoecountylibrary.us/libraries.
For library patrons with items checked out, please keep the items until the library reopens or return them to another branch. Washoe County Library System does not charge late fees. Holds will be extended, so patrons can pick up after the library reopens.
Due to the volatile nature of wildfires, the necessities of wildfire response are often unpredictable. Washoe County Library staff remain optimistic that the South Valleys Library will reopen September 16, but the closure could extend beyond that.
