The Board of Washoe County Commissioners is accepting applications for one vacancy on the Washoe County Library Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is appointed by the Washoe County Commissioners in accordance with NRS 379.022, and is responsible for governing the operations of the Washoe County Library System.
The Library Board of Trustees consists of five at-large members, each appointed by the Washoe County Commissioners for a four-year term. Members may serve two consecutive terms. Terms of service for the full-term vacancy will be September 1, 2024, through June 30, 2028. Reappointments may be sought thereafter.
Previous applicants who applied in January of 2024 will be included and do not need to reapply.
The Library Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. Trustees must be residents of Washoe County and cannot be elected officeholders. Trustees should be aware of the Library System’s role in the community as a center of information, culture, recreation, and lifelong learning. Applicants must also be willing to devote the necessary time and effort to perform the duties of Trustees.
