More Open Hours for Libraries

The Library Board of Trustees approved new hours for seven Washoe County Library branches, including Monday hours at five additional locations.  The new schedule, which went into effect Monday, January 4, adds 36 open hours at the following libraries:

Downtown Reno
Northwest Reno
Senior Center
Sierra View
South Valleys
Sparks

The Verdi Community Library and Nature Center hours were also shifted to better accommodate the families of Verdi Elementary School.
“Increasing open hours are an ongoing goal,” says Library Director Jeff Scott. ”The action taken by the Library Board is another step to providing the best possible library service to this community with the resources that are available.”
The new hours are as follows:
Downtown Reno:

Mondays – Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Sundays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

Northwest Reno:

Mondays and Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Senior Center:

Mondays – Fridays, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Sierra View:

Mondays – Fridays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

South Valleys:

Mondays and Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Sparks:

Mondays – Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Thursdays, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Fridays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Verdi:

Wednesdays, 2:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Duncan Traner, Gerlach, Incline Village, North Valleys and Spanish Springs library hours will remain the same.
