Downtown Reno Library Announces Expanded Sunday Hours

by | May 26, 2023

At the March 15, 2023 Library Board of Trustees meeting, the Trustees unanimously approved an adjustment to the hours of operation at the Downtown Reno Library. The Downtown Reno branch will now add three additional hours of service on Sundays, close on Saturdays, and stay open until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Effective May 30, 2023, the branch will be open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and will be closed on Saturdays.

The Downtown Reno Library, located at 301 S. Center St. in Reno, was voted “coolest internal space” in a contest held by Cengage Learning during National Library Week in 2014. This location serves patrons who live and work in the downtown Reno area and is a popular gathering space for Washoe County Library System’s community partners.

Patrons will now be able to take advantage of increased library access on Sundays. Downtown Reno Library Branch Manager Kristen Ryan states, “With the new hour adjustment, library staff can expand library services on Sundays which has been one of our busiest days.”
