Books and Boards with Hubble Skateboards

by | Jul 6, 2016

July 6, 2016. Reno, NV. Washoe County Library System and Reno based company Hubble Skateboards have partnered for Books and Boards, an educational lecture series designed to introduce local kids to all aspects of the skateboard industry, beginning with the first lecture on Saturday, July 9 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Valleys Library.
The hour-long lectures, conducted by assorted members of the Hubble Skateboards Team, will instruct attendees on ways to get involved in skateboarding that go beyond riding skateboards. Students will learn about skateboard manufacturing, design, photography, video editing and a basic history of the art of skateboarding.
“This has to be one of the most rad partnerships I have seen a library make in the history of libraries,” said Rene Bonilla, co-founder and co-owner of Hubble Skateboards. “We are stoked that Washoe County Libraries have invited us to spread the greatness of skateboarding to their visitors.”
The summer lecture series kicks off on Saturday, July 9 at the North Valleys Library and ends July 31 at the Downtown Reno Library. A full schedule of each event is below:
