Programs on the Porch is back with its wildlife edition, featuring local wildlife professionals presenting information on a variety of species. These presentations will be showcased every Friday night from May 19 through June 23 from the porch of the historic Bowers Mansion.

As part of Washoe County Regional Animal Service’s (WCRAS) continued focus on safety and emergency preparedness, WCRAS will conduct a full-scale exercise simulating a local disaster requiring the evacuation of all animals in the Washoe County Regional Animal Services Shelter. This exercise will take place on Tuesday, May 2, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The exercise will test staff disaster preparedness and response procedures in preparation for possible local disasters such as wildfires, earthquakes or floods.
