The Board voted to not move forward with cannabis consumption lounges. Staff will not be directed to explore code ordinances to allow these lounges. 

The Board of County Commissioners reviewed a status update on the county's Master Plan, a project known as Envision Washoe 2040. This is a high-level plan for the next several decades of development and growth in Washoe County, and incorporates numerous individual area plans and extensive public input. 

The Board of County Commissioners appointed residents to several boards including the Library Board of Trustees and the Senior Services Advisory Board. Commissioners also approved numerous donations to county programs and departments.

Board votes unanimously to pause the fee for Golden Valley Artificial Recharge Program until the end of the year to give residents more time to provide input on the future of the program. 

The Board of County Commissioners approved the annual budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1, 2023. The $1.065 billion budget was built according to the Board’s strategic objectives: fiscal sustainability, economic impacts, vulnerable populations and innovative services, and it comprises several funds, including the General Fund, Special Revenue Fund, Capital Projects Fund, and the Debt Service Fund.
