The Washoe County Registrar of Voters is inviting the public to stop by and try the county’s ballot marking devices, the new in-person voting method voters will use in the upcoming June primary and November general election.
Community members can see and test the new equipment during a hands-on showcase from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at the Registrar of Voters’ new warehouse, located at 6550 Longley Lane, Ste. 145, Reno. Attendees will also have the chance to tour the facility, which currently supports storage and logistics for election equipment and will become the permanent office, headquarters, and central ballot-processing facility for the Registrar of Voters for the 2028 election cycle.
The ballot marking devices were approved for purchase by the Board of County Commissioners during its Nov. 19, 2025, meeting as part of Washoe County’s transition to a vote center model that prints ballots on demand, allowing voters to hold and inspect their tangible ballot before casting it into a vote center ballot scanner.
