Washoe County Library is excited to announce its participation in the Nevada Division of State Parks Library Park Pass program. The program will provide opportunities for Nevadans to check out Park Passes from public libraries throughout Nevada. Park Passes will cover the day-use entrance fee at all 27 state parks for one passenger vehicle and up to eight people. To view a list of the exciting recreational opportunities available at Nevada State Parks, visit parks.nv.gov.
Washoe County residents will be able to check out passes from any of the 12 participating Washoe County Library locations. Patrons must be Washoe County Library card holders to participate. New patrons can register for a library card online or in person with proof of residence in Washoe County. Each branch will have two Park Passes available for a check-out period of one week at a time with no renewals. Park Passes are first-come, first-served, and must be checked out in person; they cannot be placed on hold. Due to limited availability, passes not returned after seven days will be subject to a $10 fee.
The Library Park Pass Program is a collaboration between Nevada State Parks and Nevada’s system of public libraries and is funded by the Nevada State Parks Gift Shop Grant Program, which allocates gift shop proceeds to educational and interpretive programs in Nevada’s State Parks. The pass does not cover camping or boating fees and does not include federal, regional, or other public lands in Nevada that are not part of the Nevada State Park system. More information about the statewide program can be found at parks.nv.gov/checkoutnvstateparks.
