Library Board of Trustees Recruitment

May 12, 2016. Reno, NV. The Board of Washoe County Commissioners is currently seeking applications to fill one position on the Library Board of Trustees.  The Library Board appoints the Library Director and evaluates his or her performance, helps set Library goals and objectives, approves policies, monitors the Library’s finances, evaluates the Library’s overall effectiveness and advocates for the Library in the community.
Individuals interested in serving on the Board of Trustees must be residents of Washoe County and cannot be elected office-holders. They should be aware of the Library’s role in the community as a center of information, culture, recreation and lifelong learning. Trustees must also be willing to devote the necessary time and effort to perform the duties of Trustees, including preparing for and attending all Board meetings, which are normally held on the third Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. The term of service for the position is July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2020, and the individual appointed to the position would also be eligible to serve an additional four-year term. Preference may be given to applicants residing in Commission Districts 3 and 5.
