On May 19, 2025, deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested James Longo for petit larceny and an active Failure to Appear (FTA) warrant issued by the Reno Municipal Court. Longo was identified as the suspect involved in the April 29th theft from the Nevada Humane Society.
This arrest follows our initial press release on May 14, 2025, in which we asked for the public’s help in identifying suspects captured on surveillance video at the Nevada Humane Society. Thanks to the overwhelming support and numerous tips submitted through Secret Witness, our deputies were able to contact Longo and take him into custody.
