From March 13-29, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office participated in a regional Joining Forces event focused on speeding as part of ongoing statewide efforts to increase safety on Nevada’s roads and highways.
Law enforcement personnel initiated 145 traffic stops.
A total of 152 citations and warnings were issued, including:
138 speeding violations
5 distracted driving violations
13 other citations
Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program that promotes statewide enforcement in the areas of DUI, distracted driving, seat belts, speed, and pedestrian safety. These enforcement campaigns aim to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor driving choices.
The Sheriff’s Office’s participation in these Joining Forces campaigns is made possible by grant funding from the Nevada Department of Public Safety/Office of Traffic Safety.
