On Thursday, August 21, 2025, members of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics Team, K-9 Unit, and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division served a high-risk search warrant in the area of Gerdes Avenue in Sun Valley. The warrant was executed following a multiple week investigation into the residence, during which investigators determined the location was being utilized for drug law violations, storing stolen property, and storing stolen motor vehicles. Evidence on scene linked the property to over 10 active criminal investigations from the region.
During the process of serving the search warrant, the following people were arrested: Wilfred Orozco, on a charge of child abuse neglect; Bobbie Dunkin on a charge of failure to comply warrant; and Kenneth Dunkle on two charges of possession of stolen property. One additional individual was arrested on a charge of obstructing and resisting a public officer.
“I commend every member of the Sheriff’s Office who participated in investigating and serving this search warrant yesterday,” Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said. “I encourage every member of our community to be alert and if you ‘see something, say something.”
The investigation is still ongoing and there is no threat to the public.
