On May 9, 2025, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies observed 34-year-old Dustin Cottiero driving in the Sun Valley area. Deputies initiated a traffic stop, however, Cottiero failed to yield and eluded deputies.
During the pursuit, Cottiero’s nearly struck two deputies and a civilian uninvolved in the incident. Due to the threat to public safety, deputies ended the pursuit.
Shortly thereafter, Cottiero’s vehicle was discovered abandoned on Peridot Way in Sun Valley. Deputies searched the immediate area utilizing K9 units and a drone, but Cottiero was not located.
On May 14, 2025, WCSO K9 Unit, with detectives from the Northern Nevada Regional Intelligence Center (NNRIC), the Human Exploitation Recovery Operations (HERO) Team, and the Regional Crime Suppression Unit (RCSU) located and arrested Dustin Cottiero and 23-year-old Annalisa Cordes in the parking lot of a business in Reno, Nevada. Cordes and Cottiero were in her vehicle at the time of the arrest. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

- Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a First Responder – Felony
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a First Responder – Felony
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Felony
- Disobeying a Peace Officer and Endangering Others – Felony
- Ownership or Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person – Felony
- Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Involving Injury/Death or Property Injury – Felony
- Display of Bogus Vehicle Registration/Plate/Title – Misdemeanor
- Failure to Stop at Accident Involving Attended Vehicle/Property Damage – Misdemeanor
- Arrest for Violation of Conditions of Parole – Felony
- Failure to Appear After Bail, Felony Crime (New River Township Justice Court) – Felony ($8,000 bail)
Annalisa Cordes was booked on Possession of a Controlled Substance- Felony
