Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam today announced his Office is moving the planned “We’re Not Looking for Everyone, Just You!” recruitment event to a fully interactive, virtual event on December 8, 2020.
“My highest priority is the safety of our employees and any of our future employees,” said Sheriff Darin Balaam. “Given the fluctuating restrictions, and our community’s increasing cases of COVID-19, I have chosen to keep our recruitment event in early December – but move it to a virtual forum.
“This virtual forum allows for anyone to participate and learn about a career in law enforcement from the safety of their own home. Our recruitment team will be presenting live, and participants will be able to interact with others, ask questions, and learn about becoming a member of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office family just as they would have if they attended the event in person.”
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is the premier law enforcement agency in Northern Nevada, and is committed to providing the highest quality police service and protection to our residents and visitors of Washoe County. Whether you are looking for a career for the first time, are changing careers, are POST certified and are looking for a lateral opportunity, or if you are returning from military service, we want to meet you.
The following topics will be covered:
- Application Process
- Selection Process
- Physical Condition
- Academy
- Duties
