On July 29th, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office will join the Nevada State Police to participate in the second annual statewide MAY You Choose Not to Drive Joining Forces Event in memory of Trooper Micah May.
Trooper Micah May was killed in the line of duty by an impaired driver on July 29, 2021.
In his honor, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office will join the Nevada State Police and participating agencies to conduct a state-wide Joining Forces campaign to take impaired drivers off Nevada’s roadways and prevent fatalities.

This event is funded by the Office of Traffic Safety. The Nevada Department of Public Safety’s Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) provides funding for law enforcement agencies to participate in Joining Forces to reduce traffic deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways.
