Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Participating in Joining Forces Click It or Ticket Campaign

May 14, 2024

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office will join forces with participating law enforcement agencies in Nevada for a Joining Forces Click It or Ticket Campaign from May 13 to May 31, 2024. This unified effort aims to enhance public safety through highly visible patrols across the state, focusing on raising awareness, educating motorists, and ultimately safeguarding lives.

Hundreds of lives have been lost on Nevada roadways due to individuals not wearing their seat belts. Buckling up is the most effective action individuals can take to protect themselves in the event of a crash. It’s a simple act that only takes two seconds and can significantly reduce the risk of injury or death. Proper seat belt usage includes securing both the lap and shoulder belts across the hips and chest, ensuring maximum protection. Avoid tucking the shoulder belt behind the arm or back, as it diminishes the effectiveness of the restraint system. Stay safe on the road by always wearing your seat belt correctly.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to reducing the number of fatalities on Nevada’s roads to zero by increasing public awareness about the dangers of speeding, driving unrestrained, impaired driving, distracted driving, and more. The Nevada Department of Public Safety’s- Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) provides funding for law enforcement agencies to participate in Joining Forces to reduce traffic deaths.
