Detectives with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Northern Nevada Drug Task Force (NNDTF) have arrested a suspect following an investigation into the sale and distribution of methamphetamine in Washoe County.
On April 3, 2026, NNDTF detectives, assisted by HIDTA task force members from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and detectives from the Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU), arrested 21-year-old Aldo Cruz-Delgado during a traffic stop in Sparks. The arrest stemmed from an ongoing investigation into narcotics distribution in the region.
Cruz-Delgado was transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he was booked on felony charges including trafficking a controlled substance (400+ grams), possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance (42+ grams), and sell/transport a controlled substance.
During the course of the investigation, detectives located and seized approximately six pounds of methamphetamine. The estimated street value of the narcotics seized is over $81,000.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Northern Nevada Drug Task Force is comprised of detectives from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, along with Special Agents and Task Force Officers from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Reno Resident Office. This partnership is dedicated to investigating and dismantling drug trafficking operations throughout the region.
