Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Leads Investigation into Officer-Involved Shooting in Reno

On Thursday, October 31, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers from the Reno Police Department responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 200 block of Mill Street in Reno. At approximately 10:00 a.m., the Reno Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting with a barricaded subject related to the call.

One suspect was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries, and no officers were injured.

The Regional Officer-Involved Shooting Protocol was enacted, and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with assistance from the Sparks Police Department.

This is an active and ongoing investigation, with no outstanding suspects or threats to the public. Updates will be released as they become available. Once this investigation is complete, it will be submitted to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office for review.
