Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Launches Community Survey

Apr 18, 2025

Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam is proud to announce the release of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) 2025 Community Feedback Survey, a key initiative aimed at strengthening communication between the Sheriff’s Office and the residents it serves.

“Listening to our community is at the heart of our mission to serve and keep our community safe,” said Sheriff Darin Balaam. “This survey gives residents a direct way to tell us what’s working and where we need to improve. Your feedback helps guide our decisions, shape our policies, and ensure we serve with transparency, fairness, and accountability. We’re not just asking for input, we’re committed to acting on it.”

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Community Feedback Survey is a vital feedback tool that encourages residents to share their views on the department’s performance, priorities, and community impact. The survey includes questions about:

  • Overall Performance
  • Leadership Performance
  • Public Safety
  • Quality of Service
  • Trust & Transparency
  • Community Engagement

Residents will be asked to reflect on topics such as the Office’s relationship with the community, perceived changes in neighborhood safety, and the level of public trust in law enforcement.

The Survey is being administered by the University of Nevada, Reno in collaboration with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. The survey is open to all residents who live in Washoe County. It is completely confidential and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
