The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office will join law enforcement agencies across Nevada in the statewide Joining Forces Click It or Ticket campaign from November 10 through December 1, 2025. This coordinated effort focuses on increasing seat belt use and educating motorists about the critical role seat belts play in preventing serious injury or death in a crash.
Each year, lives are lost on Nevada roadways that could have been saved by simply wearing a seat belt. Buckling up is one of the easiest and most effective ways to protect yourself, your passengers, and your loved ones.
Proper seat belt fit is essential:
• The shoulder belt should lie across the middle of your chest, away from your neck.
• The lap belt should fit snugly across your hips, not your stomach.
• Never place the shoulder belt behind your back or under your arm, as doing so removes upper body protection and significantly increases the risk of severe injury in a crash.
Whether you are traveling a long distance or just across town, take a moment to ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained. One simple action can save a life.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to reducing the number of fatalities on Nevada roads to zero by increasing public awareness about the dangers of speeding, driving unrestrained, impaired driving, distracted driving, and more.
