Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Investigators Seek to Identify Burglary Suspect

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pair of vehicle burglaries that may have been committed by the same individual.

On September 24, 2023, home surveillance video showed an individual in a red knit beanie hat with a white and black backpack open the unlocked door of a vehicle in the Hidden Valley area. The person took credit cards and cash.

On September 25, 2023, home surveillance video showed a similarly dressed individual open the unlocked door of a vehicle in the Mogul area. The person also took credit cards and cash.

Both incidents occurred between 1:00 AM-3:00 AM each night.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has seen a recent increase in burglaries targeting unlocked vehicles in the late evening to early morning hours. We want to encourage residents to help reduce theft and keep belongings safe by locking car doors and windows and removing valuables from vehicles.
