Washoe County Sheriff’s Office investigators asking for public’s help in identifying vehicle burglary crew

Jul 14, 2021

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives are attempting to identify three suspects in a vehicle burglary crime spree.

Deputies and detectives were called out to the Estates at Pebble Creek neighborhood in Spanish Springs the morning of July 13, 2021 for numerous reports of vehicle burglaries, a residential burglary, and one case of a stolen vehicle. In total, 15 separate victims have been identified in this neighborhood.

The suspects broke windows to access the interior of the vehicles sometime between midnight and 4:30 a.m. In one instance the suspects also accessed, and entered, a victim’s garage. The suspects stole a semiautomatic handgun, a white 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and numerous credit cards. They then fraudulently used some of the credit cards at businesses in the region.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m., Reno Police Department Officers located the stolen vehicle in the area of Plumas Street and Moana Lane. The vehicle was occupied by a lone male who ended up fleeing from police officers. When officers located the vehicle a second time, just a few blocks away, the suspect was gone.

Surveillance images and intelligence gathered by Sheriff’s Office personnel show three suspects breaking into the vehicles. They are believed to be in their teens, or they are young adults. One of the suspects is wearing a red hoodie with a reflective logo on the front and unique red shoes. That suspect matches the description of the male driving the stolen Jeep.

Intelligence gathered by detectives also links this crew to vehicle burglaries in Curti Ranch and Stead which were also reported on July 13th to another law enforcement agency.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Division at (775) 328-3320 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900. Reference case numbers: WC21-3328 – WC21-3339.
