On March 3, 2025, Detectives from the Human Exploitation and Recovery Operations (H.E.R.O.) and the Northern Nevada Regional Intelligence Center (N.N.R.I.C.) arrested Luis Sencion-Gonzalez in connection with multiple felony charges related to human trafficking.
The investigation uncovered a series of concerning communications when Sencion-Gonzalez initiated contact with an individual he believed to be a 15-year-old child. In reality, he contacted an undercover detective with the H.E.R.O. team. Throughout the investigation, Sencion-Gonzalez made several incriminating statements, leading to his arrest.
Luis Sencion-Gonzalez is charged with the following crimes:
- Attempted Statutory Sexual Seduction by Person Over 21 – Felony
- Attempted Kidnapping of Minor, First Degree – Felony
- Attempted Child Abuse or Neglect, First Offense – Felony
- Luring of a Child with Use of Computer Technology/Sexual Conduct – Felony
- Attempt to use Minor to be Subject of Sexual Portrayal/Performance – Felony
The H.E.R.O. Unit is comprised of Detectives from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, University Police Services, and the Pyramid Lake Police Department. This recent operation underscores the unit’s commitment to dismantling human trafficking networks and providing victims with a pathway to recovery and support, all while treating them with dignity and compassion.
