WASHOE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DEPUTIES ARREST SUSPECT FOR HOME INVASION

On July 22, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the area of W. Huffaker Lane following a report of a residential burglary that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the homeowner, who reported waking up to find an unknown male lying on their bed and groping them. The homeowner confronted the intruder, who then fled from the residence.

Deputies received a description of the suspect from the victim and promptly established a perimeter, initiating an immediate search of the area. During the investigation, evidence of forced entry was discovered.

After an extensive search of the property, deputies located the suspect, identified as 59-year-old Daniel Dee, concealed in foliage on the victim’s property. Deputies placed Dee under arrest, and he was transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he is being held on the following charges:

  • Home Invasion, First Offense – Sexually Motivated
  • Residential Burglary, First Offense
  • Open/Gross Lewdness, First Offense
  • Possess Schedule I or II Controlled Substance Less Than 14 Grams
  • Use or Possess Drug Paraphernalia
  • Arrest of Probationer for Violation of Condition of Probation
