Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Awarded 2026 Joining Forces Grant

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a grant of $63,000 by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety. This funding will support the Sheriff’s Office’s participation in the Joining Forces traffic safety campaign from October 2025 to September 2026.

The Joining Forces program is a collaborative law enforcement effort aimed at reducing injuries and crashes through statewide awareness and enforcement efforts. The upcoming safety campaigns will target distracted and impaired driving, speeding, seatbelt use, and pedestrian safety.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind our community that safety on our state’s roads and highways is always a priority. All drivers are responsible for safe and responsible driving. Therefore, it is important to stay alert, slow down, never drive impaired, and obey all traffic laws.
